A standard repair using our tools usually works this way:
- Customer comes in with a dripping factory drain plug (spotting up their driveway) - Remove factory drain plug and drain engine oil - Use thread tool to roll remaining threads to straighten them and stretch them (The tools operate as a roll tap - they do not cut) - Install new Sure Seal drain plug and tighten to 18 ft-lbs. - Finish the oil change and send the customer home in 30 minutes, not several hours!
Sure Seal drain plugs are available in 14mm standard and 14.5mm oversize.
We have developed an oil plug for the Honda's & Acura's with aluminum oil pans. These oil pans can cost up to $480 (91-95 Legend) and can be a nightmare to replace. Our aluminum pan oil plugs are made to the same length as the factory plug and are made with a smaller shoulder to fit into the narrow confines of the oil pan (like on the 99-up Odyssey). The plug has a 14mm outside diameter whereas the stock drain plug hole is 14mm. This slight increase in plug size helps to take up the slack from a plug that has been in and out of the oil pan too many times.

Sure Seal Balancer Shaft Seal Retainers:
Two bolt style retainer plates that keep the balancer shaft seal from walking off the end of the balancer shaft. This was an issue on the 90-02 Accord 4 cylinders and also on the Acura 2.2 and 2.3 CL's that shared the same engine as the Accord. This two bolt style does require removal of the upper and lower timing cover to install and is recommended to be installed along with the timing belt replacement.
Sure Seal Temperature Control Knob Sleeve:
Aluminum sleeves that slip onto a new (or a cracked) temperature knob to make it nearly unbreakable. As the temp cables get harder to move and the water control valves aren't as easily persuaded, the plastic temp knob takes much more abuse than it was originally designed for. Slide a sleeve onto a new factory knob and sell it as a "lifetime warranty" part.
TRIAD AUTO is one of the largest "INDEPENDENT" garages serving only Honda and Acura automobile owners since 1978. We are not associated with, endorsed, sponsored or licensed by American Honda and do not wish to create such a false impression. We have worked extremely hard to create our own image and atmosphere. We do not sell cars, although our customers tell us we are the main reason they buy the Honda and Acura product. We do sell parts and use Genuine Parts, but are not allowed to use the "H" word for advertisement.
